We’ll be staying for a night in Macau over the weekend, and its true the prices of hotel in Macau can be a little steep. There’s not much guesthouse that you can choose around Macau and most of their reviews are so-so. It’s not my first choice to stay in Fu Hua Guang Dong Hotel, the reviews in Tripadvisor are 50-50, I was supposed to book in Ole Β London, but since as our trip is getting near, prices of hotels also get higher. So I grab and book the cheapest among the list of hotels in Agoda that are near the tourist spot according to Tripadvisor and other travelers recommendations.

Basically, you can save money from taking the FREE shuttles of the big hotels in Macau, but since Fu Hua Guang Dong Hotel is nowhere near any of the big hotels, the best way to reach the hotel is taking Bus#12 and drop off at Rua Xavier Perreira, Av Horta e Costa

You’ll know you’re near the street once you see the McDonalds across the street (don’t worry the bus also shows your next destination its for you to figure out πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ :D) and that is the Horta e Costa Av, Fu Hua Guang Dong Hotel is on the other side of the street near Bank of China.

When we arrived at the hotel, check-in is fast and swift, they just ask for the confirmation booking and within minutes they have provided me with a card key to our room. Our room is on the 16th Flr., I booked a twin bedroom and I was glad that I did booked to this place. When you arrive no need to pay security deposit, unlike to other hotels that would require you to pay security deposit. (I’m just not sure if it applies for guests that will be staying for a couple of days, since we’re only staying for a night. :D)

Here’s our room:

Their twin single bed are spacious, clean and comfortable. I really had a good sleep that night. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ :). I like that it has a natural light that’s coming in into our room. There is no stuffy smell.

Need extra pillow? They have it stored in their cabinets.

The bathroom is clean and complete with bathroom essential, they may have forgotten to refill the shower bath though, good thing that I brought my own shampoo and body wash. I don’t like the smell of the soap in hotels, I just had the feeling it will make my skin drier. (oh well that’s me!)
IMG_5342IMG_5343Television channel is limited to Chinese News and telenovela. It’s good that they have one English channel, its like HBO on their cable Macau/Hongkong style.

The room comes with complimentary bottled water, toothbrush, pre-installed blow drier for those who have bad hair days and WI-FI, probably my only complain is that they have intermittent connection to wi-fi, overall, it was still a good and comfortable stay.

Would I go back or recommend Fu Hua Guangdong Hotel? Yes, despite what other Filipinos think that its kinda far from other tourist spots, I think the place is in a good walk-able distance to St. Paul Ruins. What’s nice, is the place is located where there’s a lot of food chain that you could choose from, so if you got hungry, just pick which food you want.
