I will post my review of the accommodations that I have tried during my trips and share my experience and amenities that they offer.

[BANGKOK] Bed Station Hostel

Standard

I had the most wonderful experience here, and it was also my first time to travel outside the country. I’m glad that I did stay at Bed station hostel, the place is in a good location, it’s safe and walking distance to shopping malls.

The location of the place is easy to find, so you don’t have to worry finding the place. Since I arrive early than the expected check-in time and honestly I’m not in the mood to go out because I haven’t slept yet due to the event the night before, but the staff of the hostel is very nice to offer light snack and use of lavatory which is by the way complimentary for their visitors. While waiting for time, I was browsing to my phone and checking where I can kill time, so I decided to check the mall nearby and have lunch as well.

The best way to experience Thailand is to try their food, and the first food I tried is a Korean food πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€Β  After lunch, I head back to the hostel to check-in and I’m dying to get some Zzzzz.

During booking, I already requested for all girls room and a lower bunk bed, when I got to my room I’m so happy that they did give me what I asked for and it is located on the corner with window, I like natural light during the day. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

[SEOUL] Review: Gstay Residences

Standard

So finally we’re on our last accommodation of our trip. I was able to get a FREE one night stay thru one of travelswithahobo promo contest, but we did stay for 2 nights with them. You can reserve a room thru their website and a confirmation will be sent thru your email. No need to pay for downpayment.

After our stay at Kpopstay Guesthouse and with our experience with their subway (not advisable if you have heavy luggage) we opted to take a cab going to G-stay Residences.Β  Check in was fast and reliable since I did not bring any proof of my claim they easily acknowledge my claim hehehhehe.. After paying for the additional stay they have given us our key to our room.

From all of the accommodation that we stayed during our Korea trip, I like G-Stay the most, the room is spacious enough for us to move around and open our luggage, the bed is spacious and comfortable and really perfect for those cold nights. We have mini ref where we can store our beverages andΒ  mini stove if ever we wanna cook, but no pots or pans though.. ahhahha! There’s also a washing machine in case, you need to wash some clothes which we also did not use. But still I love the place, I would definitely stay here again.

Review: Purple Fountain Courtyard Inn Puerto Princesa Palawan

Standard

It’s my first time to travel to Palawan and to travel solo. I don’t know what to expect but I must admit its a good feeling to have finally travel solo. Since it’s my first solo trip, of course I have to make sure of my safety hihiihih… I may have over budget for my accommodation but its worth it! I booked a standard room with FREE breakfast and complimentary pick-up from the airport.Β  When I arrived I was greeted by one of their staff and we headed back to the hotel.

One minor issue with them is during my booking, they have provided me with a different computation for my room reservation. I have deposited 50% for the reservation of the room and availed of their Underground River Tour. This was easily settled and corrected by the person who is in charge.

When I got to the hotel, friendly staff greeted me with a big smile. After explaining the policy I was sent to my room for the next 3 days.

[SEOUL] Review: Kpopstay Guesthouse Seoul Korea

Standard

For our second guesthouse, we stayed at Kpopstay Guesthouse near Hongdae and just walking distance from Hongik University. You might be wondering why transfer from one place to another. I would like to think it’s strategic since our planned itinerary is also in those areas, and we can explore the place whenever we want andΒ  just a walking distance to Hongdae, where night life is just around the corner. Kpopstay is located to a more quiet area in Hongdae, so you don’t have to worry about the noise around the area.

I have been wanting to stay in one of their dorm rooms since I have learned about their guesthouse. I contacted them directly and booked, mixed dorm rooms which cost around 25,000won/per night/ per head which is also a good deal because it also include FREE breakfast. Once I have confirmed our booking, no need to pay immediately, you can pay once you have checked-in with the guesthouse on the day you of your arrival.

We had a struggle finding the place when we get off the subway station (Hongik Station, Exit 9) and imagine we’re dragging our heavy luggage on steep slopes.Β  But with a little help from our Korean chingus, we easily found the place, even some of them struggle to speak English, they still try their best to help tourist find their way. ^_____^v Kamsamnida!

[SEOUL] Review: 24 Guesthouse City Hall South Korea

Standard

Our first stop is our first guesthouse, booked online thru Booking.Com, and found a good deal in one of the most common guesthouse in Korea. I booked at 24 Guesthouse City Hall which has the cheapest room for a twin bed. What I looked for an accommodation when going in a vacation, are accessible to any transportation, comfort and cleanliness and wifi is a plus πŸ™‚ and we also get a FREE breakfast with it… Sweeeet! πŸ™‚

The guesthouse is accessible via subway and airport limousine bus. We opted to travel by bus since it’s cheaper and the instruction given to us, looked easy and we will find the place faster. We got it wrong… hahahha! Just, when we got off the limousine bus, we need to find the subway station on a cold, rainy night and we have to drag our luggage too. It was alsoΒ  unlucky that, when we have to go down the subway station the escalator is not working anymore, so we need to drag again our luggage but once we got off the subway exit, the guesthouse is just a few steps and we arrive safe and with success… Whaiting!

Review: Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur

Standard

Our Malaysia trip is really not part of this years places to visit, but since we are given an opportunity to stay in one of the 5-star hotel in Kuala Lumpur, why not!!! hahaha and since we really had a plan last year during our trip in Singapore to visit Malaysia but for some epic reason we weren’t able to go to Malaysia. Review: La Carmela de Boracay

Standard

I have no word, but KUDOS to the whole team of La Carmela. I really enjoyed my 4 days stay here. Remember we booked this thru Boracay Best Deals, we are here and we got a surprise treat from them too. We got an additional two passes for our breakfast buffet. Awesome! πŸ˜€Β  The whole process from check-in was fast, they will only require you to have a security deposit of 2,000php which is refundable after your stay. We booked a Standard Room at La Carmela which is not bad after all, since the room is clean and and the bed is comfortable.

Review: Fu Hua Guangdong Hotel Macau

Standard

We’ll be staying for a night in Macau over the weekend, and its true that prices of hotels in Macau can be a little steep. There’s not much guesthouse that you can choose around Macau and most of their reviews are so-so. It’s not my first choice to stay in Fu Hua Guang Dong Hotel, the reviews in Tripadvisor are 50-50, I was supposed to book in Ole Β London, but since as our trip is getting near, prices of hotels also get higher. So I grab and book the cheapest among the list of hotels in Agoda that are near the tourist spot according to Tripadvisor and other travelers recommendations.

Basically, you can save money from taking the FREE shuttles of the big hotels in Macau, but since Fu Hua Guang Dong Hotel is nowhere near any of the big hotels, the best way to reach the hotel is taking Bus#12 and drop off at Rua Xavier Perreira, Av Horta e Costa

You’ll know you’re near the street once you see the McDonalds across the street (don’t worry the bus also shows your next destination its for you to figure out πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ :D) and that is the Horta e Costa Av, Fu Hua Guang Dong Hotel is on the other side of the street near Bank of China.

Review: Reggae Mansion Kuala Lumpur

Review: Reggae Mansion Kuala Lumpur

On our recent trip in Malaysia, we had the chance to stay on a 5-star hotel which is a Grand Hyatt Hotel – Kuala Lumpur. Lucky us, that we get to stay there for 3days/2nights for FREE! (sponsored by slambookproject) But since we’ll be staying for 4 days, we have to find a place we could stay at least for 1 night. The experience at Grand Hyatt Hotel is nice and really relaxing (which I’ll be making a separate review) and it would be nice to have that same experience once in a while or in our next vacation πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ (is there anyone out there who’d be willing to sponsor? hahahha!) Am not really particular with the place I’m staying as long as we feel its safe, clean and feasible to all tourist spot.

So how did I came across with Reggae Mansion, me being meticulous of planning our trip. I’ve been searching online for the best place to stay in Kuala Lumpur and checking reviews of other travelers. I was hesitant at first, since you really have to book online either directly to them orΒ  thru booking facilities online. Since there are other hostels in Kuala Lumpur that doesn’t need any down payment, you’ll just have to reserve, and payment can be made once we arrived. But what really attracts me is their dorm type rooms and the environment so I booked online thru HostelBookers.com, which is a safe and reliable online booking for your accommodation. So booking at Reggae Mansion is CHECKED!

Bakasyunan Resort in Tanay with the family

Standard

The whole family went on an short overnight trip in Tanay just to get the family together and spend time to bond and enjoy each others company. My cousins made all the preparation and organize the trip, I’m just a bit disappointed since the information about the budget and other details were not clearly relayed to us. Though it was short I still enjoyed the short escape from the life in the not so city and work. I got to spend with my little nephews/nieces/god-daughter and just relax and cool off from scorching heat. Just an hour from Antipolo, Bakasyunan Resort is a new resort in Tanay where family and friends can enjoy, Β and if your company is looking for a corporate outing or even team buildings, this is the place for you. They have a lot of amenities which can be used for team buildings.
